Typical Application: Contact Retention Testing

One of the most frequently overlooked steps in quality assurance is verifying the proper retention of electrical contacts inside a connector. A secure contact lock ensures reliable signal and power delivery. With the JRready HT250 series retention testers, this verification can be performed quickly and accurately within seconds.

• Force Range: 7.0 to 18.0 lbs

Usage Instructions:

1. Attach the proper tester tip based on whether you are testing a pin or a socket contact.
2. Insert the tip into the contact so that the tester and contact remain aligned in a straight line.
3. Apply a steady pull. The contact should remain locked under the specified pull force.
4. If the contact releases, the terminal must be re-crimped or re-seated.

Each tester is factory-calibrated to the designated pull force (standard setting: 12.5 lbs / 56.8N). Calibration can be preset based on customer request.

Note: This tool is intended as a simple verification device to confirm contact locking and should not be used as a destructive pull-force tester.

The tester tips are color-coded and interchangeable depending on contact size and type. Use pin-end tips to test pin contacts and socket-end tips to test socket contacts. All tips are replaceable.
